Introverted

Many known faces, we stand alone in the tram,
Wanting to be famous, in the deserts of Instagram.
We aren't travelling, but keep on clocking miles,
Future is unravelling, see the scars under our smiles.

Our laughs and wails, you'd truly hear us in the bar,
drinking cocktails, as we wish for a wishing star.
We shoot and snap, memories we regret tomorrow,
We wouldn't swap, an empty nothing for our sorrow.

We do take stress, our hearts might look like steel,
We don't express, but deep inside, we still feel.
Tend to refrain, from showing out love or pain,
Stress and strain, that we might get hurt again.

Look around you, my dearest fathers and mothers,
Are they in view? Those seeking attention of others?
Am I wrong, to be silently subdued in a deadly calm?
Am I strong, to be giving myself the attention alm?

You attention freaks, we like to just go with the flow,
The silence speaks, nothing to say, no wind to blow.

Why not?

There's a tree that provides shade,
We try to help it with a spade,
It bears fruit and helps skies rain,
to suffice our hunger and pain,
A day shall come when it will fall,
we will make a statue tall,
Why not let it bloom and blossom,
when we know that it's awesome?

There's a dog that wags its tail,
maybe step on it or put a pail,
He shall nag and moan and cry,
but he will never bark at you "why?"
A day shall come when he will die,
will you mourn or just let a sigh?
Why not let him know that he's loved,
when he barked at the crowd?

There's a cloud that brings us waters,
to keep alive our sons and daughters,
Would we sing and ask it to go,
set our sails and into oceans row?
A day shall come, lands are all desert,
will you just end with the dessert?
Why not let the rain soak and sink,
we are the planet blue, not pink.

Hear them tree and dog and cloud,
rustle and bark and thunder loud,
God is in life of every form,
God is the sun and God is the storm.
Wake up from the illusory dream,
before the futures shout and scream,
Why not we live by letting life live,
when it's all we got that we can give?

Pigeons and owls

Pigeons flap to stay safe as they land,
Owls glide and fly and sit and stand.

Pigeons peck at grains all day long,
Owls hunt at night with talons strong.

Ps race all day carrying gossip around.
Os are wise, they do not make a sound.

Ps are spotted at every corner and nook,
Os live in solitude, you'll have to look.

All Ps ever did was return to the master,
But Os could stay away from the plaster.

The problem is that Ps are growing today,
And Os are walking the extinction way.

We all belong to the family of humans, like birds,
Will we learn the lessons beyond these words?

Desolate

Of what use is it to have lived a life,
if my past can't help my present?
What's the use of all this strife,
if it can't make my future pleasant?

Why do you want to change me,
are you not strong enough?
Why should I be who you want me to be,
when I'm made of different stuff.

"Love them as they are" they said,
I doubt if we knew what it meant.
Must've been like things we heard,
the truth forces had it bent.

What you like in me today,
you may loathe tomorrow,
why be so excited about being gay,
every joy shall become a sorrow.

I learnt to be a chameleon once,
but now I feel I'm so old.
I miss those early morning long runs,
I miss being brave and bold.

The chameleon landed on a television screen,
people were looking,
too many hues of blue, red and green,
the blood started cooking.

"Less lies leave less stress" they said,
I doubt if they had put it to test.
My hair continues to shred,
I still dream of the wild wild West.

The world taught me to change or to lie,
and ease the pain,
now I stand with them balanced on a tie,
am I the knot? What's this strain?

I doubt if friends would have made me feel light,
oh wait I'm sure they'd have hugged me tight.
I'm hugging my pillows and blankets tonight,
no friend to be heard of, not one in sight.

Hurt

He's a bloody animal living inside,
Residing in my heart, feeding on my pride.
He made me cry till my eyes dried,
My past is his spear, my memory his ride.

He's a bastard child of a relation,
The relation fell apart, he had no cessation.
He waved at me at every station,
I waved back in fear, travelling to damnation.

He's a cousin of guests infinite,
They all played dart, and left at late night.
He can't tell if it's dark or bright,
Long lived my blind dear, he knew no flight.

It was a tear that lost its way,
Forgot where to start, into blood did it sway.
He thought it was just a prey,
Then red turned clear, he melted away, like clay.

Surprised were many who always did pry,
All they got to hear was "Real men do cry".
